Ranjith Oraon is a filmmaker and academician with over 10 years of experience. His specialization includes screenplay writing for films and documentary. He has taught and was Head of Department, Film Studies at Chandigarh University before joining GKFTII. He was instrumental in designing the course & curriculum.

His short films and documentaries has been recognised in the various national and international film festivals. His films focuses on the indigenous language, literature, life and cultural.

He also conducts workshops on Cinema, Filmmaking and Indigenous Philosophy.

He was a representative filmmaker from Govt. of Jharkhand for film festival in Goa.

He is an alumni of FTII, Pune with specialization in Screenplay Writing and Direction.
